The Gallery
The Lost Dog Studio Gallery is located at 81-1 Hurontario St.,
Collingwood Ontario.
81/83 Hurontario Street dates back to 1875 when it was the south
half of the Grand Central Hotel. One of the largest and finest
hotels in Collingwood, the Grand Central could accommodate up to
two hundred guests. As a result of a fire, the north half of the
hotel was demolished and replaced in 1919 by the Merchant Bank
of Canada building, (now the Bank of Montreal).

The south
portion was converted to retail and apartments but retains the
grand staircase of its hotel days.
In 2008 the building’s 1919 façade and entrance to the upper
floors were restored. The second floor now houses the Lost Dog
Studio. In creating the studio and gallery space, Lost Dog took
care to preserve the historic details that lend such buildings
their great character. This lends the studio and gallery warmth
and personality and results in a space that is both modern and
comfortable; a wonderful place to showcase and enjoy works of
art.
The gallery is currently open every Saturday from 12-5, or by
appointment. Please drop us a line and we will be happy to set
up a time for you to visit! |
